There's those bad surprises, like those crappy gifts from distant relatives, the toilet paper stuck on your shoe that's been there all day, and the bum on the bus that winks at you.
But then there are the good ones that make it all worth it, like suddenly feeling appreciated or missed, knowing you're not all that alone, rediscovering a friend, and slipping into cold sheets, the real good stuff.
Summer opens it's skies to rain on my last day here, what a blessing :)
